East Towne Square celebrates its 25th anniversary, but Lorain’s for her has been around for more than twice that long! Owner Kay Newell’s mother bought the existing business over 50 years ago, and Kay has been proprietress for over 25!
“The love of my customers and my North Shore community keeps me so excited about my business, I don’t even think about retirement. What would I do? This is what I love. Helping someone look good simply delights me,” says Kay.
Lorain’s for her prides itself on seeking out Made in the USA collections. The workmanship and value price points of Canadian designers are also high on Lorain’s customers’ all-star list. Conrad C, Lee Anderson, Cut Loose, and Simpli are favorites.
Uniqueness, comfort, and style are hallmarks of the store’s lifestyle collections. Kay prides herself on seeking out art-to-wear coats and sweaters to delight her customers. Jewelry, handbags, scarves, and shawls complement the assortments.
Lorain’s for her has returned to East Towne Square after residing in a neighboring shopping center for a number of years. Kay says, “It’s like coming home to be back at East Towne Square. And, I love the fact that I am one of 9 women-owned local businesses in this center. That’s really something to be proud of.”
(Sales associate, Joy Anderson’s dog, Cocoa is a frequent greeter at the store! Very stylish with her “diamond” collar.)
